BEN CASHEN, SERVICE MANAGER
Ben joined Wayfarer full-time in 2002. He is a graduate of the Maine Maritime Academy with a degree in Marina Management. He brings seven years of experience with him to the Service Manager position, including two years of Dockmaster experience here on the Wayfarer docks. He has a lifetime of boating experience and is exceptional at captaining boats of any size. Ben is known for his enthusiasm and dedication to our customers and their boats. He is doing the work he likes in the industry he loves and it shows!

STEVE NEIL
Steve became part of the Wayfarer crew in 1998. He began his career in 1971, and his experience has ranged from the ultra-traditional such as working on the Captain's Gig for the USS Constitution, to high end modern - working with composite boats, masts, mono and multi-hulls. For several years, Steve owned and operated his own boat building business. His hands on expertise combined with his professional focus ensures that your yacht is in capable hands. Steve has managed many of the major refits performed in the yard with tremendous success. His passion for the business and for providing world class service makes Wayfarer the clear choice for your next refit or repair.
SIMON CASTLE
Simon came to Wayfarer in 2001. He brings 22 years of marine experience with him to his role of Service Manager. Simon specializes in wooden boats; he entered the marine business growing up in the Isle of Wight as a boat joiner. He has extensive hands on experience and truly is a world class boat builder. His knowledge is certainly not limited to wooden boats and is proud to be Wayfarer’s Service Manager in charge of Nautor Swan and Oyster yacht services. He also has years of experience in repair and care of powerboats.
MECHANICS SHOP
Thinking about repowering? Adding or replacing a generator? When it comes time to replace engines and install generators our Mechanics Shop is experienced and fully equipped to deal with all of our customer's needs. Repowering a boat isn't always as simple as swapping out an engine, we are fortunate to have a full machine and fiberglass shop to build any needed parts. If there is any design work that needs to be done, we have our friends right upstairs at Chuck Paine Yacht design ready to assist. Below is just a sampling the yachts we have successfully repowered. If you don't need a complete repower and instead just need us to do smaller routine maintenance or investigate a problem we can take care of that for you too as well. Our mechanics shop has over 80 years of experience; let us put that experience to work for you. Wayfarer is an authorized service center for Yanmar, Westerbeke, Northern Lights and Onan.
ELECTRONICS DEPARTMENT
Our electronics shop here at Wayfarer is committed to staying up to date with the latest and greatest in marine electronics. We install everything from traditional navigation equipment to high-end satellite/audio visual and communication equipment. Wayfarer’s "NMEA Certified" electronics technicians, John Gass and Mike Gaulin are factory trained and have vast experience with new boat installations and replacing outdated equipment. If you are considering fitting out a new boat or replacing out of date electronics let us use our extensive knowledge to assist you every step of the way.
